What we hold, why, for how long, and who else touches it.
Who holds it
Plant Check UK is a trading name of Jagat IT UK Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 17474995. Registered office: 164 High Street, London Colney, St Albans, Hertfordshire, AL2 1QF. We are the data controller.
What we hold and why
- The PIN or serial number you typed, the make and model if you gave them, the time, and your IP address, to run the check and to stop abuse. Lawful basis: legitimate interests, for abuse detection.
- Your email address, the order, the report and the time you ticked the consent box, to produce and deliver what you bought. Lawful basis: contract.
- The order record and the receipt, because tax law says we must keep it. Lawful basis: legal obligation.
We do not use the email address from a free check for marketing. We do not send marketing email at all unless you ask for it.
How long
- Free lookups with no order: 30 days, then deleted.
- Orders and reports: six years, as tax law requires for the record of a sale.
Who else
- Stripe, who takes the card payment on its own page. We never see the card number.
- Resend, who delivers the email with the report attached.
- The Equipment Register, named in every report, who receives only the PIN or serial number and the make and model so it can answer.
- Our hosting provider, on whose servers the site and the database run.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where the law lets us. Write to us and give the order number if you have one.
